I have mentioned before that the internet has presented many different ways for people to meet other people who are interested in the same types of things that they are. There are many different ways to meet people on the internet.

      As college students, people are able to meet other students from their school using a new website called the Facebook. On this site, students make profiles for themselves and can browse through the profiles of other students at their school. Another similar site is called myspace; Myspace is different in that anybody can make an account there—a person does not have to have a college email address in order to make an account. With these types of sites, as long as you have an account you can browse profiles of other people and if you see a profile you like you can message that person or add that person as one of your friends.

      Another way to meet people on the internet is through communities that have message boards. There’s a site called EZboard that hosts message boards with all different kinds of themes. It’s possible to find message boards that are based around talking about TV shows or movies or anything else you can imagine. These kinds of communities make it easy to connect to people all over the world who have the same kinds of interests that you do.
